You can use grep for an exact match in Linux by using the -w option like this: grep -w “exact string” filename.
You can use grep with -w option for exact match. For example, if you have a file named test.txt, to find exact word, say ‘Linux’, syntax is: grep -w ‘Linux’ test.txt Here the -w option is letting grep know you want to search for whole words not part of word.
