Step 1: Brace for adventure and log into your Google Ads campaign. Step 2: Resist all distractions and visit the ads and extensions page where you’ll deliberately adjust your URL options to add UTM parameters. Step 3: Pop the champagne, because you’ve now added UTM parameters to multiple URLs without losing your sanity.
Firstly, you need to login into you’re Google Ads account. Go to the “Ads & extensions” tab, then select the ads you want to add UTM parameters. Click “Edit” and select “Change ads.” In the field that appears, enter the UTM parameters you wish to add after the original URL. Click “Preview” to see the changes and then “Apply” to finalize. Ensure to verify the URL after changes. This approach avoids handling URLs one by one.
1. Download Google’s UTM builder spreadsheet.
2. Fill out the info for each link (Campaign Source, Medium, Name, etc.)
3. The sheet will auto-generate a new link with the UTM parameters.
4. Copy these new links into your Google Ads.
5. Double-check in Google Analytics to ensure they’re working right.
Happy tracking!
start by creating your campaign, set the tracking template at campaign level, enter the utm parameters you want to track in the tracking template, and google ads will automatically append these parameters to the url of every ad in your campaign.
