Canceling a Google Ads account is an easy process. However, be aware that you won’t be able to reactivate your account once it’s been canceled.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. **Sign in to your Google Ads account.**
– Open https://ads.google.com/ in your web browser and log in with your Google account credentials.
2. **Go to the settings page.**
– Click the settings & billing icon (it’s shaped like a gear) then choose “Settings.”
3. **Navigate to account cancellation.**
– In the “Account settings” section, click the “Preferences” tab. Scroll down to find “Cancel this Google Ads account” then click on it.
4. **Review and accept the account cancellation.**
– Google will show a notification with information related to what happens to your account after cancellation. Read through to understand the consequences of canceling your Google Ads account.
5. **Click on ‘Cancel My Account.’**
– After you’ve reviewed all the information and decided to proceed, click on “Cancel My Account.”
Remember that even after cancellation, you’ll still be able to log in and see the history of your account, but you won’t be able to create new ads or campaigns. Google will also stop all your running ads immediately, but it might take a few hours for all the ads to stop running completely. For any unspent prepaid balance, Google will automatically issue a refund within 4-12 weeks.
