Canceling your Google Ads subscription involves a few simple steps. Before beginning, remember that once you cancel your account, you will not be able to reactivate it. Instead, you’ll have to create a new account if you want to use Google Ads again in the future.
Follow these steps to get your Google Ads account subscription cancelled:
1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
2. Click on the tools icon (looks like a wrench) in the upper right corner.
3. Under “Setup,” click on “Preferences.”
4. In the “Account Status” section, click on the “Cancel my account” button.
5. You’ll be presented with a few options and some information from Google on what happens after cancellation. Read through this, then click on the “Cancel my account” button at the bottom.
Please note that if you have any remaining balance, Google will automatically charge you within 60 days of cancellation. However, if your balance is clear, you won’t receive any charges.
Do remember that once you cancel your Google Ads account, any remaining ad groups and campaigns will be permanently removed. It’s advisable to download your data if you think it could be needed again before proceeding with account cancellation.
Cancellation will not absolve you of paying any remaining owed balance prior to the cancellation. To check if you have an outstanding balance, navigate to the ‘Billing’ tab in Google Ads.
Keep in mind, if you want to stop your advertisements temporarily, you may prefer to pause your campaigns instead of cancelling the whole account. When you pause a campaign, your ads stop running, but you can start it again anytime you wish.
Hopefully, this can help guide you toward successfully cancelling your Google Ads subscription. Just be sure the cancellation aligns with your digital advertising strategy before moving forward.
Absolutely, you can cancel your Google Ads subscription anytime by visiting the “Settings” and then “Preferences” tab in Google Ads to cancel your subscription!
