Closing a Google Ads account is relatively straightforward. Below are step-by-step instructions that you should follow:
1. **Sign-in**: First, you need to sign in to your Google Ads account through this link: https://ads.google.com/home/
2. **Tools and Settings**: Once you open your account, go to the top right corner of the screen, you will see the “Tools & settings” icon (which looks like a wrench), click on it.
3. **Preferences**: In the drop-down menu that appears, hover over “Setup”, then click on “Preferences”.
4. **Account Status**: Scroll down the page to the “Account Status” section. Here you will find details about the status of your account.
5. **Cancel**: Click on “Cancel my account.” If you do not see this option, it may mean that you have outstanding payments or you are currently running a campaign. Ensure to clear all payments and stop all campaigns.
6. **Follow Instructions**: Follow the on-screen instructions. You may be asked to provide a reason for cancelling your account. Once done, click on “Submit”.
Important points to remember:
– Once the Google Ads account is cancelled, all active ads will stop showing immediately.
– You will receive your final outstanding balance within 60 days.
– The cancelled Google Ads account still appears in your Google Ads account list but will be marked as Cancelled.
– Despite being cancelled, the account can be reactivated in the future if needed.
– Be certain before taking this action as you cannot undo it immediately. Reactivation usually takes about 24 hours.
– Keep in mind any associated products or services (like Google My Business or Google Analytics) aren’t affected by the closure of Google Ads.
simply navigate to your google ads account settings, select preferences, then account status, and click on cancel your account; just remember to review any pending balances.
