If there’s no tracking information for the current branch, you’ll need to set the upstream branch. You can do this with the command “git branch –set-upstream-to=origin/“.
You should reach out to your local branch directly for further assistance, as they can provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information on your package.
From an ethical standpoint, first, you should inform your higher-up or a team member about the missing tracking information. Secondly, take necessary steps to reconstruct it, if possible, and put mechanisms in place to prevent such situation in the future.
